US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 3
This private tutoring session is for a beginning-fluent reader. This private tutoring session will include a brief 5-minute "warm-up read" with a leveled text your child will be able to read independently. Next, we will spend 10 minutes on word work. Word-work will include a making words game, sorting words activity, sight words activity, or an onset/ rime manipulation activity. We will spend the next 10 minutes reading a "new" leveled text on your child's instructional level. Before we read, we will go over the new vocabulary and make some predictions. Your child will then read the new story. Finally, we will write for the last 5 minutes. We will work on generating ideas, basic writing skills, and spelling strategies during this time.
Learning Goals
Students will practice reading independently leveled texts.
Students will practice working with words to build phonics and sight word skills.
