This is a private tutoring class. Lessons will be tailored to your learners individual needs. The goal of this class is to help your learner hone and improve their skills. After registering, please send me a message with information about the specific skills you would like your learner to focus on in class and I will develop a lesson plan for them using that information. Lessons will be engaging and discussion based, not solely lecture. During each session there will be a mini-lesson on the skill we are working on as well as time for guided practice, individual practice, and review. Areas of expertise include phonics, building reading fluency, reading comprehension, writing, and social studies.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their skills in reading and/or writing.

Florida Teaching Certificate in Social Studies/History
Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Florida Atlantic University
Hello Outschool Families!
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to teach and connect with learners here on Outschool. With 14 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all ages in a variety of settings.
I began my teaching journey working as a substitute teacher at the elementary level while taking classes to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. After earning my degree, I taught 10th-grade World History at a large public school in South Florida. Teaching history was a dream come true, and I loved every moment of it! At the end of my fourth year teaching high school, my husband's job transferred him to Virginia where I began working as a lead teacher at a preschool over the summer. I thought teaching preschool was just going to be a summer job, but it turned out that I fell in love with the littles and teaching early literacy and reading.
After the birth of my daughter, I transitioned to online teaching. I’m grateful for the flexibility it offers—both for my students and myself. One of the best parts of teaching on Outschool is connecting with learners from all over the world.
Teaching is my passion, no matter the platform being used. There is nothing quite like seeing learning "click" for a student and watching them begin to excel on their own. My favorite topics to teach are history as well as early literacy, reading, and writing. I'm an avid reader myself and it brings me great joy to see my students get as excited about reading as I do!
I look forward to meeting your child and joining them on their learning journey. I hope to see you in class soon!
