Private Tutor: Social Skills, Social Emotional Learning, and Self Regulation

This private class option will allow me to create a curriculum from the class topics below that I have experience teaching and adapt them to your child's needs. For each class, I will be specific to a topic that I will have discussed with guardians previously with extension activities. Below are different types of social skills, social-emotional, self relationship topics that I have taught that you can select for your learner. This class is designed to align with the CASEL 5 competencies for social and emotional learning. This class does not include mental health or medical advice. It is not counseling or therapy. Students are encouraged to engage in the discussion, but are not expected to share any personal experiences with sensitive issues.

This class will be catered to meet the individual needs of your child. As an Elementary and Middle School Special Education teacher, I support students from grade 1 through grade 8 on various skills. This will be structured as a 1:1 learning/educational supportive environment, I will provide structured support in subjects such as math, reading, writing, science, social studies, social skills, study/organizational skills, life skills, feelings and emotions, and self-regulation. I have many years of experience with students of all levels of learning. Depending on your child's age and interests, we will learn together via, slides, video clips/songs, movement, games, repetition, graphic organizers, visuals, and many more.  

**PLEASE NOTE: It is my objective as a teacher and advocate for each student to have an equal opportunity to learn things that interest them and will help better their future. However, I can not do it alone. The partnership and communication between teacher and parent are very important for the success of the student. Before our tutoring session, I would require a brief description of your child's academic and/or behavioral needs to help make the lesson appropriate and interesting for your student. I will look forward to your comments. This class serves well as an introductory class for further tutoring. For further sessions, we can adjust the length of time of the sessions, and I can also be flexible with my schedule to best meet your family's needs as well, please reach out to discuss if you need different times. My classroom will be set up as a quiet and supportive space where I will encourage and engage the students in their work. I look forward to beginning this journey with you and your student.
