Welcome to my Kindergarten Phonics Tutoring Class! It is an honor for me to offer a comprehensive program to assist young learners in developing their phonics skills. I offer this class as a private tutoring class for kindergarten students who are just beginning to learn to read. In order to provide a one-to-one experience, I offer it as a private tutoring class. :)PLEASE CONTACT FOR PERSONALIZED SCHEDULING :) My Kindergarten Phonics Tutoring Class focuses on teaching children the fundamental building blocks of reading through phonics. By understanding the relationship between sounds and letters, students can decode words and read fluently. Phonics instruction is a proven method of helping children associate sounds with letters and letter combinations. In my role as a teacher, my goal is to create an engaging, supportive environment for your child. We ensure active participation and phonics practice through a range of interactive activities, games, and exercises. It will also teach students how to blend sounds together to form words by recognizing and pronouncing individual letter sounds and combinations of letters that make specific sounds. In order to reinforce learning and provide a well-rounded experience, I will employ a variety of resources, including online phonics books, flashcards, and online resources. Depending on the prior knowledge of each student, this may change. The best way for children to learn is to engage multiple senses simultaneously. To facilitate learning and enhance retention, I utilize visual aids, auditory cues, and kinesthetic activities. As students complete this course, they will be able to read and spell confidently, while decoding unfamiliar words, improving their vocabulary, and becoming independent readers. In order to ensure continuous improvement, I provide regular progress updates and suggestions for at-home practices to parents. I encourage them to actively participate in their child's education. Together, we can lay the foundation for successful learning and literacy for a lifetime by enrolling your child in our Kindergarten Phonics Tutoring Class today. Things to know: My teaching styles can range from collaborative lectures and discussion to games, slides, and video clips, depending on the student's needs. I try to make our tutoring sessions engaging and interactive. A blank page can serve as a vast playing field for the brain. It allows students to revise and improve creative thoughts and ideas. Students can use pencils, markers, crayons, and anything else to spark joy in the picture. Students should use a blank piece of paper or a journal. To meet the learner's needs, parents are encouraged to message details regarding where their child needs additional assistance or a subject taught. This is at least 48 hours before the scheduled tutoring session. This includes any comments and questions you may have before the tutoring session. Learners can be enrolled in as many sessions as needed to support their academic needs. If you don't see a time that works with your schedule, please send me a message or request. Please email me if you have any questions.
Learning Goals
A key goal of phonics instruction is to help children learn that letters represent spoken language sounds, and that there is a logical, organized, and predictable relationship between written letters and spoken sounds.

Background
The pedagogical approach I have created for my students has been based on my 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience and my degree in Psychology. My passion for cultivating a growth mindset that encourages effort and perseverance stems from my membership in the National Tutoring Association and Yoga Alliance and my Arts in Health and Self-Reliance training. I am completing a master's degree in education and working in one of the best charter schools in Rhode Island.
A Personalized Approach
My classroom is interactive and collaborative, adapting to my students' learning styles, schedules, and needs. At the end of the semester, all students feel good about their efforts. In my teaching approach, I believe in each child's uniqueness and seek to connect with and bring out that aspect of theirs in their work rather than simply focusing on the results.
As your child explores and curates art at their own pace, they develop creative and critical thinking skills. Art and writing are as therapeutic as any educational program. In my art classes, I provide students with a safe learning environment that meets their level of understanding and encourages ideas without fear of making mistakes.
