**Please Note: Openings for my private tutoring classes have ended due to the approach of summer and the start of my summer programs. Openings will resume in September after the start of the 2022 fall semester.** If you're looking for a private kindergarten, first, second, or third grade teacher who individualizes instruction based on the needs of your child and the specific goals you have for them, this is the perfect one-on-one opportunity! I have 12 years of teaching experience in...
This class is taught in English.
As your child's private teacher, my ultimate goal is for your child to increase all applicable language arts skills (comprehension, phonics, vocabulary, spelling, composition, and penmanship) and math (basic number sense, addition, subtraction, geometry, time, money, fractions, etc). However, outcomes are also dependent upon how often your child practices outside of our session time and their overall efforts during our sessions together.
Homework will be determined based on your child's specific learning plan and goals. But generally, your child will receive age and developmentally appropriate homework and assignments to complete outside of our session time together.
Specific supplies will be discussed once a learning plan is established as supplies are dependent upon the content covered.
Initial Assessment - performed during our first session to understand where your child stands academically. This will help me create an appropriate learning plan. Mini Assessments - performed after new concepts and skills have been learned and practiced consecutively Unit Assessments - performed after an entire unit has been completed Comprehensive Assessment - performed at the end of a regular school year and usually includes a mixture of content based on your child's academic and developmental level. **I do not give graded assessments! I do not believe in letter grades, but rather, I believe in allowing your child to see what mistakes they make and helping them recognize why it was a mistake while also giving them an opportunity to correct them right then and there.**
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
