Class experience
In this on going class, you will recieve detailed, clear instruction in Suzuki Piano elements starting with the Twinkle Variations and games to reinforce music concepts and theory. Adult participation is required for children aged 7 and under and welcome for all other ages. Caretakers have the job to play the recordings at home and initiate and guide home practice. Students will learn to play the piano through listening first as they learn their mother tongue. There are 19 pieces in book one that will be learned Hands alone first at the childs pace, learning the melody then adding the left hand. Students will be playing the twinkle variations from the very first session and then move on to Honeybee which is the first Hands Together piece.. Each lesson we add a new skill, review our learned skills and apply this knowledge to our music. We add scales and chords at the 6th lesson (or when the student shows readiness) Students will learn to read traditional music and from a chord chart.
I am a fully accredited Suzuki Piano teacher registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas
Homework Offered
Students are expected to practice daily.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Progress is assessed by fluidity of fingers, tone quality and ability to play hands independently.Grades Offered
Beginning Students will need the Suzuki Piano School New International edition Volumne 1 Book and CD the cost is $25 and the student typically uses this book for 2-3 years.
Students will need to have Suzuki Piano School Volumne 1 New International Edition with recording
