Class Experience
Students will learn how to have confidence on stage as well as specific singing or acting techniques for theatre. They may also learn how to interact with directors and accompanists at auditions in addition to their audition material.
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from University of Idaho, 2021 Student teacher at several theatre camps from 2011-2018 Educational Director at the Dunes Summer Theatre in 2022 Educator on Outschool from January 2022 - Present Substitute Para Educator from October 2021 - October 2022 Professional actor and singer from 2018 - Present Taken singing lessons from a professional opera singer since 2001
Homework will typically be to memorize whatever piece you are working on in class. In most situations, you will have plenty of time to complete your memorization. Your homework may also be to listen to the song we worked on in class to become familiar with the melody.
Learner progress will be assessed casually throughout instruction. These are the things Ms. Emily will be looking for: memorization, taking and remembering notes about your performance, growing in confidence, and listening to instructions. There will be no formal assessments. But if Ms. Emily feels like your learner isn't progressing as expected, she may reach out to parents to have a discussion on why that may be.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
