Assessment is informal in this sewing lesson, as the teacher makes sure the young sewist understands each skill presented, and is happy with their learning. Feedback is provided weekly in the classroom to the learner, and in a separate note to the family.Class Experience
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this weekly private sewing lesson, I work with the learner exploring their interests in sewing. Sewing projects could be hand sewing or machine sewing. I share ideas for practice at the end of our 60 Examples of private sewing lesson topics: For beginners: *2 Ways To Thread a Needle *Hand Sew a Pillow *Sewing Machine Basics For young sewists with some experience sewing: *Beginning Embroidery *Design and Sew Your Own Stuffie *Using A Sewing Pattern What to Expect in Class: This class begins with greetings, and discussing what the student wants to learn. During class, I use two cameras. The second camera is above my workspace so my hands and drawings are clearly visible. As we work together, I offer feedback and tips. Our private sewing lesson wraps up with share time. I share ideas to extend learning through practice before we say goodbye. My Teaching Style: I am a compassionate teacher and I respect student artists’ varying skill levels and communication preferences. Learners may choose to engage in discussion, respond using chat, and/or share their artworks. Learners are encouraged to communicate in a way that is best for them. Art is all about individual expression!

Parental Guidance
Because sewing involves sharp needles and scissors, I suggest an adult is nearby while students are sewing.
