US Grade Kindergarten - 2
**Please note that I will be taking a Maternity Leave on May 14 and am not currently scheduling sessions after that date.** This is a 1:1 tutoring session for struggling readers. (For learners preferring a small-group environment, please see my K, 1st, & 2nd Grade Phonics Classes!) On the first session, I will use assess your student's current reading level and needs. Then, each session will include a variety of activities to help your child learn how to "crack the code" of the English...
This class is taught in English.
Learning goals will differ based on the specific needs of the student. Here are some examples of a goal your student may have: Student will be able to correctly isolate the sounds in a variety of CVC words. Student will be able to accurately segment the sounds in CVCC words. Student will blend the sounds to accurately read multi-syllable words. Student will be able to read multiple words with the long a sound.
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, 10-hours of training with Reading Simplified Academy, tutoring experience with 1st & 2nd graders
Homework Offered
Students will be given a passage to re-read at home. They will be expected to read this passage every day in between sessions.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
