Description

Class Experience

Students will progress on a reading continuum, based on their personal needs and goals.
I am a certified K-6 teacher who has been teaching children to read for over 20 years. I've homeschooled my 4 children, and also taught in public, private, and other homeschool environments. I've been teaching live online classes on Outschool for over 2 years, and love working with kids from all over the world!
The best way to learn to read is to READ! Students are expected to practice reading outside of class.
Upon enrollment, I will provide a list of books based on your child's needs. Books may be either purchased or borrowed. Here is an example of a BEGINNING READER BOOK LIST: http://www.mindspark-learning.com/beginning-readers.html
I informally assess students on a continuous basis. Written evaluations or letter grades can be provided at the parent's request.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
