No matter what level of reading I teach, I make sure my students are inspired to read for meaning first. Without meaning, there is no motivation to keep reading. I am a certified K-6 teacher who has been teaching children to read for over 20 years. I've homeschooled my 4 children, and also taught in public, private, and other homeschool environments. I've been teaching live online classes on Outschool for over 2 years, and love working with kids from all over the world!
The best way to learn to read is to READ! Students are expected to practice reading outside of class.

I informally assess students on a continuous basis. Written evaluations or letter grades can be provided at the parent's request.
