Hello! I am a TESOL-certified teacher who holds a Master of Education in Reading/Literacy as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. She is also a singer/songwriter and actor who likes to make learning fun. I have been teaching ESL, Reader's Theater, and Wordly Wise for 6 years but have been an educator for over 20 years.
No homework, but students are encouraged to read books aloud throughout the week on their own.
Ms. Kim will provide all reading materials on her screen unless the student specifically requests or provides approved reading material.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A short assessment will be given to K-4 to assess their reading level in order to avoid frustration.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The student will have the option at times to visit a Nearpod link or the Nearpod link will be used during class. Nearpod is an approved Outschool teaching tool. If your student has a favorite character or topic, please advise me so that I can gear our lessons toward it. This will help with student engagement in the beginning.
