If you are worried about your child's reading progress or are curious about your child's approximate reading level, this course is for you. In this one-time class, I will assess your child's reading abilities. I will focus on reading readiness, phonemic and phonics abilities, and find your child's instructional reading level. I can also assess writing and spelling skills if that is an area of interest.

Class Experience
I will do a full assessment of your child's reading abilities. In this session, we will do a reading readiness assessment, phonemic awareness, and phonics assessment. I will also find your child's individualized text level. If time permits, I will also assess writing skills and sight word recognition. This evaluation will give you an idea of your child's approximate "grade-level" reading ability. You will receive a chart of your child's scores and an evaluation of your child's strengths...
Students will demonstrate what they know about reading.
I have over 20 years of teaching experience (10 as a reading specialist/interventionist). I have a BA in Elementary Education and an MA in Teaching and Learning with a Specialization in Reading. I am a highly -trained Reading Coach as well.
