Private Reading Assessment (Ages 5-9)

I will do a full assessment of your child's reading abilities.  In this session, we will do a reading readiness assessment, phonemic awareness, and phonics assessment.  I will also find your child's individualized text level.  If time permits, I will also assess writing skills and sight word recognition. This evaluation will give you an idea of your child's approximate "grade-level" reading ability.    You will receive a chart of your child's scores and an evaluation of your child's strengths and weaknesses, as well as suggestions to help your child grow as a reader.  I am a former reading specialist/interventionist and have been trained in various assessments that are currently used in public schools.  If you are concerned about a specific area, I am happy to alter this assessment session to meet your child's needs.
