*Please message me for a specific time that would work for you In this ongoing reading and writing tutoring class, learners will practice reading comprehension strategies, enhance vocabulary, practice fluency and work on writing skills. Reading and writing go hand in hand. It is important that learners are able to respond to reading through writing. I can work with your child with reading responses and composing essays using various modes of writing such as informative, opinion, persuasive, etc. * For younger learners, I can prepare lessons that focus on sight words, reading comprehension, and fluency Example Topics: - close reading and annotating a text - reading a passage and responding to it with a writing prompt - summarizing nonfiction and fiction texts using specific strategies - identifying main idea and details using graphic organizers - determining word meaning using context clues - analyzing vocabulary - identifying author's purpose and perspective - identifying point of view and how the point of view shapes the story - tracing the plot of a story using a graphic organizer and examining how plot, setting, and characters interact to reveal a theme Tutoring sessions can be tailored to fit your child's needs. I can also help with homework assignments as needed. Please let me know what your child needs so I can create appropriate and engaging sessions for your child. * Please refer to Outschool's Standard Refund Policy
