Class experience
This is a class for beginners and it will proceed in the units based on the child's understanding and will be taught at the speed that is best for each learner. One unit could possibly be taught in 2-3 lessons. One unit is not always one lesson and just depends on their progress. Curriculum is an ongoing activity and it will go through units. This class could possibly continue for quite a period of time and each week new skills are being introduced. This class is for beginners. This is a...
Unit 1: Finger Numbers, Animal Rhythms, How to Sit at the Piano. Rote songs will be taught so your child will play beautiful songs from the very first class. Students will learn the sets of two black keys and three black keys. Students will have a chance to decorate their piano or their keyboard that will help in their learning. Safari animals will be used to teach basic fun piano technique in a way that students can understand. Students will learn the music alphabet and play a song that will go with it. Unit 2: There is a bunny house activity that shows the proper hand shape when playing the piano. Songs will be sung to engage your child using animal songs. Each letter of the music alphabet will be studied separately and student will have opportunities to do activities to reinforce material learned. Some songs are taught by rote and student will be playing along with the teacher in beautiful performances at each class. Sometimes student will learn a follow the leader song and once again play along with the teacher playing beautiful piano pieces. Finger numbers are stressed about using correct finger numbers. Each finger will have plenty of chances to practice this skill using this to develop their skills. Lion Paw is used to develop more technique and how to play the piano correctly. Animal Rhythms are introduced and used frequently. Some activities allow the child to develop their listening skills. Students will start reading notes and will be able to practice their reading skills. Letter C is introduced. Unit 3: Letter D is introduced. There are songs for each letter of the music alphabet. At each song there will be rote songs and follow the leader songs. More rote songs and more follow the leader songs are used. Work on the giraffe rhythm with the student. Students will have many chances to create and improvise all the while playing along with the teacher. Unit 4: The letter e. Student will have a chance to learn the E song by rote and by listening and following the teacher. A hippo rhythm is introduced and student will have chances to play the hippo rhythm in the lesson. Students will have listening activities with the hippo. Students will start reading the notes starting on E. Unit 5: The letter F is introduced. There is a rote song and then a Giraffe Dance in a follow the leader activity. Student will work on technique using the animal "Zacharia Zebra". More songs are introduced by ear and many chances to improvise. More chances to strengthen reading music notes. Unit 6: The letter G is introduced with an activity. Learn the G Song by rote. Another song about a zebra. There is a Leap Frog Follow the Leader Game. There will be zebra listening and zebra reading. Unit 7: The letter A will be introduced. There is a letter A song taught by rote. There is a follow the leader game and Kangaroo used to teach a new technique. More rote songs will be learned and chances to play with the teacher and then there is a kangaroo rhythm that will be learned and practiced. More chances to improvise and more chances to read using the letter a. Unit 8: The letter B will be introduced. The student will learn the letter b song by rote. In unit 8 there is an Animal Parade. and an Animal Game. Student will learn Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by rote. There is kangaroo listening. Reading the notes will be introduced using the letter B.
