Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In my private piano studio, students will learn to read music, develop their musical ear, and play the piano. I have 20 years of experience teaching private music lessons to both young and old. Students will be using the method/theory book described in the “supplies” section below. I am a kind and encouraging teacher who believes that learning how to play the piano should be an enjoyable experience. I encourage my students to practice daily and develop a practice routine while building their self-discipline skills. I like to play “off the bench” games with the youngest beginners and encourage learning songs of all genres.
This is an ongoing class and our weekly schedule will be adjusted monthly.
Learning Goals
Weekly student goals are set between student and teacher.

Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Rhode Island College
Welcome to Outschool! As a proud military spouse, I have spent the last 20 years teaching music all over the world. Currently residing overseas, I am a graduate of Rhode Island College, and have a background in accompanying and performing. I began teaching piano lessons in 2003 and have had the privilege to teach both young and old ever since! I also play the clarinet and fiddle for fun. I strive to teach a love for music and to create an encouraging, relaxed environment for my students.
Aside from teaching, I enjoy hiking, traveling, volunteering with the USO, and reading.
I look forward to meeting you in my classroom!
