The goal for each student depends on what they would like to do with their music education. I have taken on students who want to learn how to play from lead sheets using only chords in the left hand. I have helped students prepare for an audition in the music program at the college level. Most students want to learn to read music so they can play their favorite songs. I work with each student based on their needs.

I am a professional pianist and have been teaching for over 35 years. My resume is attached below for details about my training. In addition, I participate in ongoing professional development courses to keep my teaching skills sharp.

Homework Offered
Students will be assigned one or two songs each week, a theory page or worksheet, and Sproutbeat games/worksheets. 

NOTE: Students are expected to read their lesson notes, practice, and complete their theory assignments every week. Parents may need to assist younger students.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will provide weekly notes to the student and parent to guide them in their lessons. I will track their theory work through Sproutbeat. Parents can also monitor their progress by logging in to their accounts.
