Homework
1-2 hours per week. Homework assignments for a piano student may include scales, technique exercises, and some of their favorite songs! The amount of time required for practice each week will depend on the student's current level of proficiency. Generally, a student should aim for at least 20 minutes of practice each day.Class Experience
My piano class is designed to give learners of any level -- from beginner to advanced -- an opportunity to learn the basics of playing the Piano, as well as develop their own unique style of playing. I will cover topics such as proper posture, proper technique, reading music, and developing a repertoire of tunes. The class is structured to provide learners with a comprehensive overview of the Piano, as well as a chance to apply the concepts they learn into their own playing. Piano lessons will cover the fundamentals of music theory and piano playing, such as scales, chords, and rhythm. We will also explore different genres of music, including jazz, classical, and pop. The class is structured so that each week we will focus on a specific topic, such as scales, which will be taught through a combination of lectures, discussions, and hands-on playing. My teaching style is student-centered and encourages questions and discussion. No previous experience or knowledge is required, and all levels of piano playing are welcome. This class is suitable for everyone between the ages of 5 and 18, regardless of level. It is an ongoing program, so you can join or leave the class at any time. Lessons can take place twice a week, weekly, or every other week, and you can choose the length of each lesson. Prices are $30 for 30 minutes, $45 for 45 minutes, and $60 for one hour. Learners must supply their own keyboard or Piano for the classes. I will provide information about the books needed for each lesson, according to their level. If you have any additional inquiries, do not hesitate to get in touch!
