In this ongoing, self-paced class, students will meet privately with the instructor to learn the skills necessary to play the piano and read music.
Class experience
This class is a private weekly piano lesson for your child. Students will learn the basic skills necessary to play the piano in a warm and supportive environment. We will focus on proper technique and music reading while having fun making music together! This class is available to students with no previous experience as well as students who have already been taking lessons or piano classes. Students should expect to spend 15-20 minutes playing the piano each day (outside of the lesson...
Students will learn to play with correct technique, learn to read music, and learn to play several simple songs.
Homework Offered
Practicing each day is tremendously helpful in learning to play an instrument. New pieces will be assigned each week.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Students will use a lesson book for this course. New students should purchase the "Alfred's Prep Course - Level A". If your child has had previous piano instruction, we may decide to continue in their current method book, or switch over to the Alfred series as appropriate. We will discuss and decide on materials when your child is scheduled for lessons.
