Class experience
Piano technique and skills will be taught at an intermediate level. Topics include eighth notes, transposing, phrasing, half steps, whole steps, and scales. This class is structured with a once a week, 30 minute class. Week of 9/12/22: Practice eighth notes with Skip To My Lou and Bach’s Minuet. Week of 9/19/22: Practice transposing with Ice Cream songs, Hayden’s Theme, and the Clock Strikes 13! Week of 9/26/22: Practice phrasing with Ode to Joy and the Moonlight Melody Week of 10/3/22:...
Learners will develop playing technique through various scales and exercises. Learners will transpose and/or compose simple songs. Learners will develop playing technique through applying phrasing and new rhythms. Learners will progress in music theory by identifying half/whole steps, eighth notes, and scale patterns.
Learners will be required to purchase the book ‘Piano Adventures Lesson Book’ Level 2A, and Level 1. If the learner does not already have this book, a link will be provided. Learners may already have previous levels of this book. We may refer to these for review during class.
