Description
Class Experience
Learners will build music reading, performance, composition, and technical skills in this class. Games, theory, and music history are an integral part of every lesson.
I'm a professional classical musician with a full studio in Toronto. I've helped learners all over the world learn to play the piano and write original compositions in a variety of styles from 80's pop to Bach. Music is serious business, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. I've spent the last twenty years building a curriculum that gets kids excited about classical music and adding their compositions to those written by famous composers over the last four centuries.
Learners are encouraged to practice 10 to 30 minutes a day, depending on their age, goals and experience.
Mini Musicians, Piano Pronto, and Piano Safari are my curricula of choice. Mini Musicians books are available free of charge to our youngest learners and include coloring pages and a Star Songs Book for children who are not yet reading comfortably. Piano Pronto books average $10-15 and Piano Safari books are approximately $20. If you're already using a different series we'll assess its effectiveness during our first two classes.
