Description

Class Experience

Students will develop piano playing skills and technique through scales, arpeggios and exercises. 
Students will identify and play new rhythm patterns, dynamics, and expressions. 
Students will identify the jazz style and learn how to improvise or create music ‘on the spot.’ 
Consistent practice is important for progress with piano.
Learners will be expected to practice a minimum of 20-30 minutes for at least 5 days every week. 
1 to 2 worksheets weekly will be assigned for extra reinforcement of new concepts. 
Learners will need to purchase a hard copy book- Piano Adventures Level 2A, lesson book and performance book. These books are generally $8 each, not including shipping. Learners will need a folder for extra printed pages, a spiral notebook or notebook paper, and a pencil for each class. A piano or keyboard is required for this class.
The learner will be assessed informally through written reports or a checklist. 
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Learners will use a hard copy book - Piano Adventures, Level 2A, lesson book and performance book. 
The teacher will display the lesson or performance book on screen during class using the website www.pianoadventures.com No parent/student account is required for this. 
Extra music and resources will also come from www.cascademethod.com and www.carolmatzpiano.com Music or resources will be displayed on screen during class. No parent/student account is required for this.
