Students will improve phonological/phonemic awareness skills based on their unique needs.
I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with 9 years of experience working in the public school system. Throughout my career, I worked mostly with neurodiverse learners (including students with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, learning disabilities, and reading disabilities) on language and reading skills.
Handouts and worksheets may be provided as necessary and will need to be printed. Learners should have basic supplies such as pens/pencils, highlighters, and paper. Learners will also need manipulatives. These can take many forms: blocks, play-doh, small objects (think, toy cars, rubber balls, or mini erasers), pop its, or even circles cut out of paper and colored in.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Kahoot: Kahoot requires students to have their own device. This can be a smartphone/tablet with the Kahoot! app OR a Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge web browser. They will need to have their own account. Quizlet: Quilt requires students to have their own device. This can be a smartphone/tablet with the Kahoot! app OR a web browser. They will need to have their own account. Khan Academy: Khan Academy will be accessed from only the teacher's computer to display lessons and videos. Students will not need an account nor need to access Khan Academy. YouTube: YouTube will be accessed from only the teacher's computer to display lessons and videos. Students will not need an account nor need to access YouTube. Google Slides: Slides will be accessed from only the teacher's computer to display lessons and activities. Students will not need an account nor need to access Slides. Boom Learning: Boom will be accessed from only the teacher's computer to display lessons and activities. Students will not need an account nor need to access Boom. ViewPure: ViewPure will be used by the teacher to remove ads and promtions from YouTube videos, when necessary. Students will not need an account nor need to access ViewPure. TeachersPayTeachers: TpT products will be accessed from only the teacher's computer to display lessons and activities. Students will not need an account nor need to access TpT.
