Class Experience

The student in each weekly class will learn about Social SAtudies through personalized instruction. This may include improving research skills, assistance with assignments along with assistance with writing and / or Social Studies project development. Learning for this class in Social Studies is based on the needs as well as goals of the individual student.
There is no homework assigned, unless a student signs up for more than one week of the class and requests assigned homework be due the following week. For example a student being home-schooled may want to have an assigned project to be due in class the following week. This would require signing up for more than one individual class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This is a 1:1 class where formative assessment occurs on an ongoing basis. The learner will be assessed throughout the class and receive positive token reinforcement for success, such as compliments for performance of good work. Also the class ends each week with a verbal summary provided to the student, which highlights work performed, successes achieved and work still that must be done (if relevant).
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
