Private, Ongoing Spelling and Reading Classes for Ages 6-10
We will meet twice per week for 25 minutes for private tutoring. The level of English Language Arts being taught will depend upon the level that the learner is working at and working towards.

I'm thrilled to be able to help your child improve their reading and spelling skills! We will spend 10-15 min reading and discussing a given text. We will focus on comprehension of the text and recalling information. For beginner readers we will focus on decoding and phonics skills. We will then cover during the next 10 minutes a spelling rule and go through words that relate to those rules. Learners will be able to be quizzed on said words if parents would like that for their schooling needs. Students can pick from the following books to read: * Amelia Bedelia * Some Dr. Seuss Beginner Books * Frog and Toad (2nd grade reading level) * Magic Tree House (3rd grade reading level) * Boxcar Children (3rd grade reading level) * Various other books that children bring to my attention on their level Please note that ongoing classes are charged on the Sunday preceding the lesson. If you need to skip a week, kindly let me know before the charge goes through on Sunday. I would be happy to simply not schedule class for that week, and you will not be charged. For last-minute changes, I am usually able to offer a make-up lesson (pending availability) with at least 24 hours' notice.

Parental Guidance
Parents can help with studying some words and the rules of English we will go over during each class.
Supply List
Notebook and a writing instrument. If the student has a whiteboard and dry erase markers, that works just as well. If anything else is needed, parents will be notified ahead of time.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi! My name is Natalie and I love teaching. I have over 15 years' experience in learning and teaching ASL with both children and adults. I recently got my certificate in ASL. I also graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2010. In 2024, I passed my Praxis in English and Social Studies. Previously, I taught high school History, Sign Language, and Gym class for a year.
