Class Experience

Students will progressively build sewing skills, learn to make a variety of fun projects, acquire mending and alterations skills and much more.
There will be some preparation work at times in order to get materials cut and ready for the lesson.
Learners will need these basic supplies: *a sewing machine in working condition *an iron and an ironing board or heat safe surface to iron on *sharp sewing scissors *thread - a regular spool of all-purpose thread and a bobbin (extra empty bobbins are good to have on for each color of thread) *sewing machine needles (1 universal needle in the machine and at least 1 extra) *sewing chalk or other marking tool (Frixion pens by Pilot are my favorite. Their ink disappears when heat from the iron touches it) *a seam ripper *pins *a tape measure and seam gauge or ruler *fabric and a few other small notions will be needed and will be on the weekly files listed on the classroom page
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There will be sharp objects used for these lessons. Supervision is left to the parent's discretion.
