Class Experience
Parents/students can choose to focus on piano, voice, or composition in this lesson. We will work at each student's pace so the lessons will vary each week. Students are required to practice between each lesson. The amount of practice required varies based on skill level but that will be made clear to the student each week. Beginning piano students will use the Piano Adventures lesson books. Advanced students will choose the musical path they want to take and can include pop, jazz, and...
I have a masters in music education and have taught music for over 20 years.
Students are required to practice between each lesson. The time required varies based on skill level. For beginners, 10 minutes a day is sufficient. More advanced students may require up to 45 minutes daily.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Composition students will use Noteflight for music notation. This site does not require personal information from students and student work is not shared. Voice students will use musicnotes to access music and provide accompaniment. They will need parent assistance and approval when making a purchase. The app itself does not allow in-app purchases.
