Homework
1 hour per week. There will be practice assignments between each lesson, learners will be encouraged to practice for at least 10 minutes everyday to improve their musical skills.Class Experience
Is your child interested in learning music? There are many benefits to children learning music, the National Association for Music Education lists 4 benefits of learning music; an increase in levels of creativity, communication, critical assessment, and commitment. And I certainly agree! In the first lesson we will talk about the learner's musical background and explore a little bit with the instrument they want to learn. We will also discuss what they hope to learn in music lessons as well as what materials they will need for lessons. Then we will continue to meet weekly to strengthen the learner's musical skills. I offer lessons in music theory, solfeggio & ear training, recorder, beginning piano, and beginning guitar, beginning ukulele or a combination of these. Let me know what your learner's musical interests are! I believe that learning music is a wonderful skill, especially for young learners. Musical skills can help in so many different areas of education and life! I believe that learning music should be fun and enjoyable for the learner. I love to laugh and hope to have learners laughing too. My teaching style is engaging, I try to find ways to give feedback creatively and not negatively. Each lesson will begin by the learner reflecting on their strengths and weaknesses from their previous week's practicing. After each class I will leave feedback in the classroom with any materials that the learner needs for the next week, this should help guide practice time in between lessons. Please message for availability, I may have other availability.
