I'm a certified K-12 teacher with nearly 10 years of experience in the classroom. I have completed professional development courses on using Minecraft: Education Edition to implement core curricula with students of all ages and skill levels. I am also a Minecraft Certified Teacher.
For private sessions in Minecraft Education (coding, creative, or survival), learners will need a device to play Minecraft: Education Edition. Minecraft: Education Edition is available for PC, Mac, and most tablets. Please make sure to download Minecraft: Education Edition prior to the start of class. For skin and texture pack creation, learners will need a computer. Learners will also need a license to a Minecraft: Education Edition account which will be provided by Mr. Matt prior to class.
45 minutes per class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please note that learners will NOT be using their personal Minecraft accounts or gamer tags. Learners will receive log in information to a Minecraft: Education Edition account for free before the start of class. In Minecraft: Education Edition, users will only be able to see other learners in our private world and only their first name will be visible. For sessions on skin and texture pack creation, learners will use Nova Skin to create Minecraft resources. These skin and texture packs will be compatible with Minecraft Education, Java, and Bedrock editions.
We will be using Nova Skin to help create skin and texture packs. Learners may view reference images online.
