Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 8
In this on-going weekly class, students and parents will get to choose the math topic they would like to be targeted during our session. I will guide students through the procedures of the math topics, step-by-step with visuals and manipulatives. Students will be practicing skills through guided practice as well as individual practice. I am able to offer remediation of the skills they are struggling with as well as extension of the skills they are strong in to offer them a challenge.

***Please send me the math topic your child needs to work on in a private message in advance so that we can make the best use of our time together!***

Hello learners!

My name is Danielle Nesgoda. I am a certified teacher who has been in the classroom since 2017. I am a Special Education Teacher at the elementary school I teach at, which has offered me unique experiences in modifying and adapting state standards so that all types of learners are successful. The population that I teach are students who are still expected to excel within the general education curriculum and are expected to pass standardized tests.

In addition to teaching full-time, I have also served as a private and small group tutor after school. In my years of teaching and tutoring, I have taught students in Kindergarten through 12th grade in Math and Reading. I have experience with all learners including ESL, advanced academic, and students with special needs. My colorful teaching background has provided me with a strong foundation for helping to reach struggling learners.

My classes offer a safe space for learners to try new things and take risks. My philosophy stems from the understanding that math can be found in any part of our daily lives and it's important that we utilize each individual's prior knowledge in order to build connections and develop a more meaningful understanding of math. I enjoy integrating online applications such as Nearpod and Kahoot to encourage interaction and active participation.

I look forward to working with you!

Mrs. Nesgoda
