Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and welcome! My classes are primarily music classes consisting of ukulele, flute, piano, general music, and band. I have a Bachelors in Music Performance and another in Music Education. I have 10+ years of experience teaching private music lessons, and 3 years in the public school system teaching elementary general music. I also assist several band programs teaching flute for marching band, sectionals, and head start camps.
My goal as an educator is to create a positive learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, try their hardest, and grow. I always aim to provide the right language or tools to reach each individual learner. I find that teaching methods using analogies, real life experiences, and examples enhance the learning outcome.
When I am not teaching, practicing, or performing, I spend my free time with my husband going on different adventures. I love snuggling my pug and enjoying various activities such as crocheting, videography, and reading, to just name a few.
Come take a class with me and lets have fun making music!
