Class Experience
Each lesson is tailored for each individual student's experience and goals. This private lesson is accessible to all ability levels and no special equipment is required for the class. (Any equipment that the student has access to can be included upon request.) Exercises are functional exercises adaptable for different fitness levels and include stretching and conditioning exercises as applicable. The class will begin with a warm-up designed to increase heart rate, calm the nervous system, and fortify against injuries. The main portion of the class will include controlled exercises and stretches designed to safely increase flexibility as well as strength to help the student to reach their specific goals. The class will end with a cool-down period incorporating stretching and mobility exercises to maintain muscular and joint health. The exercises in this class are designed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance to promote healthy bodies. Each session is designed to be fun, engaging, challenging, and rewarding. The exact plan will vary from class to class depending on the specific requests of the student (and guardians). Please contact me with your child's goals and any injuries, pains, disabilities, or fears your child might have that might affect the exercises they can participate in during class so that I can be better prepared with exercises ahead of our meeting time.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class is an exercise-based class. Students should have an open workout space free of dangerous and fragile objects that has a diameter of 1.5 times the height of the student. Students should come to class wearing comfortable workout apparel for stretching and bring a water bottle. The class will be performed barefoot and contain a warm-up period sufficient for the exercises performed in class. The exercises given in this class are designed for the students to do without a spotter or direct supervision. It is important to understand that injury is always possible when engaging in physical activities, so adult supervision is still encouraged to minimize the risk.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a fitness coach and professional acrobat passionate about health and fitness. During my time as a middle school science teacher, I integrated a more prominent fitness unit into the life science curriculum to help students learn about the health benefits of exercise and the variety of exercise types that are vital to the growing body as well as into adulthood. Additionally, I have been teaching fitness, gymnastics, and circus arts for 10 years to students aged 5-55 through a variety of camps, afterschool programs, gyms, recreational and professional institutions. I have experience teaching large groups, small classes, and private lessons, and have developed programs for one-on-one clients and recreational group classes. As a professional athlete, I combined my personal experience with practices learned from a variety of fitness and health professionals including physiotherapists, sports trainers, personal trainers, coaches, and teachers to create a well-rounded and inclusive exercise program.
