Public speaking is necessary in all walks of life, yet many people cite it as their number one fear. The reason most people are fearful of talking in groups is 1) they lack the confidence that comes with practice and 2) they lack a knowledge of the fundamentals of HOW to talk to groups of people. Students will be exposed to different types of public speaking, including debate, impromptu speaking, and responding to a prompt. My goal is to make sure that students gain confidence in their ability to share their voice with others and to powerfully communicate their thoughts and knowledge with others. Each lesson will focus on the thing that will most quickly improve the learner's effectiveness.
Sensitive or high risk topics will not be discussed. Topics will be adjusted to the learner's interests.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Material will be geared toward the age of the learner; as this is a one-on-one class, there will be no information presented which would be inappropriate for the learner.
