Description
Class Experience
Private lessons provide students with a level of attention and personalization unavailable in group settings. Students are free to progress as quickly or as slowly as they are comfortable with and are able to benefit from the flexibility in the curriculum. Depending on the student, lessons can be broad and basic, such as: • Rules of the game • Names and movements of the pieces • The phases of a chess game • Basic tactics Or they can be focused on high-level concepts, including: • In-depth...
Students will gain confidence in their gameplay and learn to apply their newfound chess knowledge in real time. Students will also hopefully gain insight into their own learning styles and grow to become active participants in their educational experience.
No homework will be given, but regular practice is highly recommended for anyone who wants to maximize their growth!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be sure students have a lichess.org account set up in "kids mode". I will also be sharing my screen from lichess.org
We will be using https://lichess.org for live gameplay.
