Description

Class Experience

Students will bring their own woodwind instrument to the lessons! Please see the materials section for more information.

These lessons are targeted for students that have either never played the instrument before or have had less than one year of instruction.

I will help the student improve their performance on the woodwind instrument of their choice.  Focus will be determined at the beginning of the lesson but can include topics such as how to read letter names of the notes on the staff,...

Students will learn the proper playing technique for the instrument.  They will be able to read simple melodies and play them using the proper hand position, embouchure and finger/slide placement.  Students will posses the skills to self-evaluate and correct their own errors, as well as find the benefits of practicing a new skill.

Students will need a standard Flute, Clarinet, or Saxophone.  A swab is recommended for cleaning instruments.  Saxophones and Clarinets will need 2-3 reeds on hand (Strength #2 is recommended).

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
