Let's learn the Harp! This class is a basic Harp class that will range from Beginning to Advanced levels. Whether the student has played for several years, or is brand new to the Harp, this is the class for you.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the basics of Harp playing that include these key elements:

-Proper hand and sitting positions
-Finger numbers
-Reading the staff in both the Treble and Bass Cleff
-Playing, Counting, and Reading simple to complex rhythms 
-Sight reading 
-Major and Minor Keys
-Learning Jazz, Contemporary, and Classical Harp pieces
-Learning the students specific favorites from movies, musicals, or games
I have a BA in Music with an emphasis in Harp Performance. I have been playing the harp for over 18 years. I have been teaching the Harp for the past 10 years. I love teaching Harp! I am able to meet your student at their current level of learning. If your child is more advanced playing the Harp, I will meet your student at their current Level and continue classes where they need to be. 
Homework will consist of weekly practice of the pieces we review in class. 
We will be using multiple method books that the student's will need to purchase.  All assigned pieces can be found on www.harp.com

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I do not give assessments. 
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental Guidance is suggested for young students who may need help placing their hands on the correct string, tuning the strings, or replacing the strings.
