Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
I believe music lessons should be a fun, positive experience. My own music lessons growing up were always something I looked forward to and I want to pass on that experience to my own students. Every student learns at a different pace so the lessons are tailored to meet the student's individual needs. My main teaching objective is to engage each student, encourage their love of music, and to inspire an ongoing sense of personal achievement.
I've been a professional musician (performer & teacher) for over 20 years. I studied music in the jazz program at Humber College in Toronto, Canada. I perform in many different groups of diverse and varying styles, including jazz, classical, musical theatre, pop, and rock music.
I will provide assignments related to the work we've done in the lessons. Although it is up to the student to decide how much extra time they put in outside of lessons... the more they practice, the easier things will become. Spending as little as 20 minutes a day, a few times a week can really help the student develop their skills on the instrument.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
