Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
In my private classical guitar lessons, students will learn a range of skills tailored to their level, including basic to advanced techniques, music theory, and repertoire from various classical periods. They will develop proper finger placement, posture, and hand positioning to ensure a strong technical foundation.

What topics will you cover?

Beginner Topics: Introduction to the guitar, basic music theory, simple melodies, and fundamental techniques such as fingerpicking and strumming.

Intermediate Topics: Expanded repertoire, advanced fingerstyle techniques, scales, arpeggios, and musical interpretation.

Advanced Topics: Complex pieces by composers like Tarrega, Sor, and Villa-Lobos, etc., performance techniques, and detailed musical analysis.

How is your class structured?
Each class is structured to meet the individual needs of the student. Typically, lessons begin with a review of previous material, followed by the introduction of new techniques and pieces. The class includes hands-on practice, demonstrations, and constructive feedback. I also incorporate exercises to improve technical skills and musicality.

My teaching style is highly personalized and interactive. I use a combination of direct instruction, hands-on practice, and guided discovery to help students learn. Lessons are tailored to the student’s pace and interests, ensuring a customized learning experience.

I adopt a supportive and encouraging teaching style, emphasizing patience and positive reinforcement. I believe in creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to explore and ask questions. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and inspiring while maintaining a focus on achieving technical proficiency and musical expression.

Learners will have extensive interaction with me during each lesson. Sessions are one-on-one, allowing for personalized attention and immediate feedback. Interaction includes:

Lecture and Demonstration: I will explain and demonstrate techniques and musical concepts.

Hands-On Practice: Students will have ample time to practice with guidance.

Discussion: I encourage students to ask questions and discuss challenges.

Multimedia: Occasionally, I use slides, video clips, and audio examples to enhance understanding and provide diverse learning experiences.
By maintaining a high level of interaction and offering tailored instruction, I ensure that each student receives the support and guidance they need to succeed in their classical guitar journey.
