US Grade 7 - 9
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In these private tutoring sessions, your learner will be given one-on-one help with his/her/their French language learning needs. Whether it's helping with homework, preparing for an upcoming French test, filling in learning gaps, or satisfying a curiosity about this beautiful language, your learner will receive individualized support and instruction with a focus on developing speaking, writing, and reading skills. Topics may include: • basic sentence structure, including placement of adjectives and adverbs and noun-adjective agreement • verb conjugation/tenses (le présent, le passé composé, l'imparfait, le futur simple, le futur antérieur, le conditionnel, etc.) • reading comprehension of short passages or books • writing practice (sentences, paragraphs) Because my primary focus is on helping students understand and master the fundamentals of French grammar, I take a systematic approach to teaching the language, building concepts upon each other and employing plenty of built-in review. I often screenshare documents containing the lessons I've prepared and exercises and activities for my students to complete with me during class for practice. For learners taking French classes in school, priority is given to completing homework and preparing for tests or exams. The amount of French spoken during class will depend on the learner's level. Relevant documents containing grammar lessons, short reading passages, and practice exercises (e.g., translations, fill in the blanks) will be provided when appropriate.
