Description
Class Experience
This class is a follow up class to Learning To Play Flute For Young Children and is designed to move at the pace of the individual student. Through games, echo play, and teacher demonstration, we will review the material covered in the previous class and continue to build on those skills. In our weekly flute lessons, we will continue to focus on flute fundamentals and having fun with music. Specific aspects of the lessons will include work on tone, reading notes and rhythms, fingerings,...
The student will learn the fundamentals of flute playing and apply them to fun songs on the flute. We will cover fundamentals such as tone, dynamics, rhythms, note reading, fingerings, and articulation. Each week we will review previous concepts and songs learned and build on these skills.
The learner will be assigned songs and exercises to work on each week. These songs and exercises will be short and will be used to review the information covered in class. Emphasis when practicing should be placed on having fun and experimentation should be encouraged. Short but frequent practice sessions are recommended, roughly 10-15 minutes in length one to three times daily.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be informal. I will frequently communicate with learner (or parent) so they are aware of their objectives and their success.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
