US Grade 5 - 9
English Language Arts can be challenging for some students. Perhaps your learner just needs some pointers on creating an excellent research paper, or editing one that has already been written. Perhaps they need help with grammar and syntax, or reading, or writing/practicing a speech. Regardless of the need, I can help. I have tutored and/or taught American and foreign students the ins and outs of writing well, learning to use the parts of speech to craft beautiful sentences, research their topics, cite properly, increase vocabulary and spelling skills, to read more efficiently and quickly while increasing comprehension, and even speech preparation... and how to put all of these skills together to communicate clearly and concisely. In this hour-long private tutoring session, I will work with students on their weak spots and help them in a way that is exciting and fun. If they don't see it as a chore, they will be more open to learning and working on their assignments, or projects we create in class. Let me know what you need and I will tailor the class specifically to what your student needs. My classes are lecture and practice, with a lot of discussion involved. Your child's voice has value in my class, and I listen for what they need most and adjust as necessary. I welcome their thoughts, ideas, questions, and comments. Participation is a must in order to fully benefit from this class. Education is - I believe - a conversation, and students are more likely to retain knowledge when they are involved in the discussion. Also, I am available between classes if they have questions. They can always send a message via Outschool, and I will reply quickly.
Learning Goals
Students will improve in the English Language Arts. Whether the need is in writing, reading, grammar, research, or speech preparation, we will work on whatever the student needs.
