Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - 12
Beginner - Intermediate Level
During our time together, each learner will receive an individualized experience based off their needs. Each class will begin with a basic warmup/stretch, continue through skill-building, technique, and combinations of movements, and finish with a review. In the style requested, here is a basic curriculum we use: Jazz 1st class: Following warm-up, we will discuss "What is Jazz Dance? What kind of music can we dance Jazz to?" We will begin with Jazz Isolations to the beat of the music. 2nd class: Following warm-up, we will learn the difference between classic jazz and modern jazz. We will work on foot-work type jazz movements like step touch, grapevines, jazz squares, pivot turns, passe walks, and more. 3rd class: Following warm-up, we will continue to develop our isolations. We will put together a few basic jazz moves we have learned. 4th class: Following warm-up, we will learn to count with music and how we can put our basic movements to music. 5th class: Following warm-up, we will put multiple moves together to create a combination. We will start by using counts, count the music, and then count the movements with the music all together.

With any physical activity, there is risk. Please use caution when taking this class and make the instructor aware of any physical limitations or injury.
Please wear appropriate clothing for exercise, make your space a safe place to dance, and bring a water bottle.

I teach Movement classes in studio and online as well! I have been teaching dance for 15+ years to all ages (18months - adult) as well as Fitness classes to kids and adults. Dance has been a major part of my life for 32 years and I love bringing that passion to others. I've worked with young and old, special needs, low-impact or injured, wheel-chair bound, and all others!
I believe that Dance/Movement is a rare "sport" that is all-inclusive; gross and fine motor skills, spatial awareness, emotionally stimulating, builds self-confidence, improves discipline & listening skills, and much more.
My family consists of my super supportive husband, my oldest daughter (8) youngest daughter (6), and then the littlest one is 3years old, but he was born 3-1/2 months early. We spent a significant amount of time in the NICU in the city we live in and are forever grateful for modern medicine! Our life has been a rollercoaster and, as crazy as this sounds, I wouldn't have it any other way... mostly. haha!
Being a mama myself, I try to be flexible with my schedule and appreciate the understanding from parents as I navigate our medically complex son's needs as well as two active girls!
