Class Experience

In this private ongoing class we will be explore sewing on a sewing machine and fashion design. We will go over the manual and sewing machine to understand all it's functions and to fill at ease with it. We will practice threading the bobbin, and the machine. We will practice straight stitching, back stitching, going around curves and corners. We will explore all the different tools, what they are and how they are they used. The student will learn how to measure her body and how to buy a pattern. I will teach the student how to read a pattern, cut it out and make the garment. In this class the student will also make items without a pattern and learn how to draw their own pattern.
The projects we will create are a dress using a reclaimed shirt with a sewn on skirt, gathered skirt with an elastic waistband, a tote, a zipper pouch with a zipper.
