Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
If you are looking to start or continue learning the cello, I offer instrumental lessons for all levels and ages. Students will learn the essential elements of cello playing and music theory, all while learning pieces that fit their musical preferences! This is a one-time trial class where your learner can meet with me, Mr. Axel, and see if we would be a good fit for ongoing private cello classes.

Beginners, intermediate, and advanced students are all welcome! In this trial lesson, we will play the cello, get to know each other, talk about your learner’s interests, and discuss lesson goals and structure. We will also discuss any materials and equipment needed for cello lessons.

Music education, especially one that involves learning a string instrument like the cello, is an excellent example of comprehensive learning. Students will complete projects individually executing different skills such as posture, hand position, rhythm exercises, bow-hand position, bow-arm position/movement, left-hand position, rest position, and tone production.

if you need any further information to request and schedule your private lessons after the trial lesson or If you do not see a time that suits your schedule, please contact me and request a time. I am always happy to accommodate!

I am excited to meet your learner and dive into the wonderful world of music-making!

Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile
I am a graduate student of Rice University, where I completed my Master’s degree in cello performance. I received my Bachelor of Music at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, a Professional Performance Certificate, and a Master of Music degree from Lynn University.

As a performance artist, I performed with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout North, Central, South America, Europe, and East Asia. I participated in prestigious summer festivals, including Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, SHMF (Germany) for four consecutive years, Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), Latin American Festival of ChascomΓΊs (Argentina), International Music Academy of Solsona, AIMS Festival (Spain), Zeist Music Days (Netherlands), Quartet Fellowship Program at Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and The Aronson Cello Festival (United States). Additionally, I took part in the Ensemble Bartok Chile International Tour 2015 β€œChile, Window to the Universe,” which has been invited to participate in China’s β€œMeet in Beijing Festival,” with performances in Beijing, Seoul, London, and MΓ‘laga. I have been an active orchestra member in the past years, playing with various ensembles, including New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Southwest Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

Aside from performing, I have an extensive background and a great passion for teaching. I have been involved in multiple projects in the past, where I showed my dedication as a music educator. I taught at Harmony Program's Summer Camp at The Juilliard School (New York) as a Teaching Artist, Preparatory School of Music at Lynn's Conservatory of Music (Boca Raton), Houston Youth Symphony CODA Music Program, Vivace International School of Music, Houston (Texas), and Zeta Charter Schools (New York), among others.

My teaching philosophy is that every student has a unique way of learning; therefore, I choose teaching methods and lesson plans that are suitable for each student’s needs. I believe that every student has the potential to learn to play musical instruments, and I am committed to helping students strengthen their confidence and explore their creativity.

On a personal note, I love watching good movies, painting, drawing, traveling to exciting places, and spending time with my family.
