Welcome to my course of Private Violin Lessons! In this course, I offer private music lessons. I will meet your child at thier level of violin playing. Young musicians taking this course will learn everything they need to know to become a great violinist and musician. This includes violin playing techniques as well as basic aspects of music theory. I have been playing the violin for over 10 years and have been teaching private lessons on and off for the past 5 years. I have had the privilege of studying with 3 amazing professional violinists, each of whom were professional performers and teachers. In addition, I have taken several University level music classes including music theory, violin pedagogy, string literature, various ensembles, and more. I love to teach music!
We will be using multiple violin method books that the student will need to purchase. The book I prefer to start with is called "Essential Elements for Strings, Violin Book 1". This can be found on Amazon or through any music store for around $10. There are many free apps for tuning the violin. Anything that has a microphone and can tell the student what note they are playing will be great! My favorite app is called "Soundcorset tuner & metronome". It will also be a benefit to the student to purchase fingerboard stickers if they don't already have them. Violins have no frets! Can you believe it? These stickers will help in memorizing where to put left hand fingers. There are many great options for violin fingerboard stickers. Amazon has a few that are awesome which I have linked below.
