Welcome to my course of Private Ukulele Lessons! In this course, I offer private music lessons. I will meet your child at thier level of ukulele playing. Young musicians taking this course will learn everything they need to know to become a great ukulele player and musician. This includes strum patterns, chords, correct fingering, reading tabliture, keeping a rhythm, and basic aspects of music theory. Learning this new skill takes time, so this class is meant to be taken over and over until...
Students will learn to play chords and strum patterns on the ukulele confidantly and correctly.
Students are encouraged to practice once a day every day between our weekly meetings. The amount of time for each practice session should be determined by the student. Usually practicing what we covered in class 3-5 times every day is a great place to start. Keep in mind that the goal of practicing is not simply to impress the teacher or to be able to move on to new material in the next lesson, but it is to retain the skills and information you learn in class for a lifetime.
Students will need a ukulele and a way to tune it. You can buy a ukulele tuner that attaches to the end of the ukulele or there are many free apps for tuning the ukulele. Anything that has a microphone and can tell the student what note they are playing will be great!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress is assessed through informal assessments. At the beginning of each class, students will simply show me what they practiced the week before. We will then address questions or concerns if there are any, and move on to new material when the student is ready.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
