I like to start all of my lessons by establishing where my students are and where they would like to be. If my student is a total beginner, help them to get set up with their instrument, both with physical technique and the technical aspects of getting their instrument in good playing condition. 

Once I've learned what my students' goals are, I will put together a plan for achieving those goals based on their interests and current skill level, either through established pedagogy, or by creating a customized lesson plan.

All of my lessons focus heavily on music theory, and healthy practice habits. My goal isn't just to teach students how to play their instrument, but to make them well rounded musicians, able to see not just the "How" of the music they are playing, but the "Why".

From the very beginning, I also offer virtual recitals to all of my students to give them concrete goals and deadlines to hit, as well as valuable performance experience.
