Class Experience

Students will continue to improve upon their ballet technique and work on areas of weakness during their time with me.
Dance is an intense physical activity which can result in injury. My class is designed to progress in a way that the students will increasingly warm up there muscles before moving onto bigger movements and things that put more strain on the body. However, for the safest results, students are recommended to do some stretching or slight cardio before class to be even more prepared. This could be as simple as 10-15 minutes of gentle stretching or 5 minutes of a variety of things such as jumping jacks, planks, lunges, abdominal work etc., to get the body moving and blood flowing. As described under materials, dancers should wear clothes they can move in and socks or ballet slippers on their feet. It is also recommended that they have a water bottle or glass of water available to them during class.
Students should come to class dressed in clothing they can comfortably move in. This can include ballet attire (leotard, tights, ballet slippers), exercise clothing and socks, or some variation of this. They should also have a chair or another height appropriate object they can use as a ballet barre, as well as a relatively open space. It is also recommended that they have water available to them.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
