This class is a private 1 on 1 art lesson class. This class can be individualized to the students personal needs and interests. Each class will be 1 hour scheduled at a specific time and day so that your student will learn in an ongoing weekly format. Since this class is for individual learners, the curriculum can be catered to your students interests such as paper creation, maker space activities, using a glue gun and creating projects, learning how to utilize various craft mediums, learning how to sew felt projects, making fairy related creations and any projects I offer in my other classes. Please review my other listings and we can decide on a detailed curriculum for your student. Each week, I will post in the classroom what project we will be making along with any necessary printables, patterns and any materials needed. Themes of the projects we will cover can be chosen by the student or I can choose all of the projects. The classes will move at the pace your student prefers. Since this is an ongoing class, projects can be worked on through various classes if the student desires. This class is a private class that can be custom catered to your learner. Your student will be the only one enrolled and will be able to learn at their own pace. A schedule for your student may look like this- Wk of March 4th - Marble Mazes Wk of March 11th- Paper Articulated Puppets Wk of March 18th- Musical Instruments Wk of March 25th- Paper Pop Ups- Parallelograms and so on Private art lessons can be a wonderful option to students who desire more time to work, prefer a one on one approach to learning, are shy when working with other students or for various other reasons. If your student prefers this method of working, please convo me so we can set up your schedule for individualized learning.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! Let's make something you design and create! I am a doll maker by trade and own a small business selling eco friendly sewn toys. I have a background in textiles and art with a BS from Philadelphia college of Textiles and Science and have attended Massachusetts College of Art and Moore College of Art. While studying textiles in Scotland, I was inspired by their openness to experiment with random materials and craft in very different ways. This idea has stayed with me and has grown into an interest into many craft forms, playing with unusual and varied materials.
I started making Art quilts and Art dolls, some of which have been published. I spent years painting furniture, rooms and murals and love playing with faux finishing techniques and paint materials. I have always been interested in archeology and indigenous craft, and am inspired by their use of color and detail. On the side, I also design posters, flyers and logos for local non-profits.
I am, most importantly, a homeschooling mom of a 11 year old boy and I have been teaching kids, ages 3-10, at different cooperatives during the past 6 years. A big philosophy in my classes, is that there are no mistakes, only accidents we can learn and grow from. I have taught many classes ranging from Comic Books, Textile Arts, Paper Engineering, Paper Circuitry and Play n Learn Math to 2-D Art, Sewing, Mindfulness and Archeology. I look forward to sharing my love of cultures, art and craft with your kids!
