Class Experience
Welcome to Mrs. D's Art Room, where it is always a good day when you are learning something new! In this ongoing class, young artists will use step-by-step instructions to draw awesome brilliant birds on the land, in the air, and on the tree branches with pencil shading, acrylic paints, and watercolor techniques. While learning the bird drawings, we will be focusing on 1. How to draw different birds' unique body shapes, 2. How to draw and Color curved beaks 3. Techniques to color...
This class is taught in English.
The young artists will learn how to draw birds’ different features like beaks, feet, eyes, wings, feathers, etc. I will tell them fun facts about the birds. They will learn different shading and coloring techniques with mixed media.
Mostly we will use different mediums each week. I will inform about the material list in advance. Material list for Acrylic paint projects: 1. drawing book/piece of paper (8x11 preferred) 2. pencil 3. eraser 4. ruler 5. Sharpie/permanent marker to trace the drawing 6. acrylic paints 7. brushes round and flat both 8. paint palate 9. small water cup for cleaning paintbrushes 10. paper towels Material list for Watercolor projects: 1. watercolor paper/multimedia drawing paper (whatever size you desire) 2. eraser 3. ruler 4. paint palate 5. brushes - round and flat 6. watercolors 8. paper towels Material list for Pencil shading projects: 1. drawing book/piece of paper (at least 8x11 preferred) 2. pencil-2B, 4B, 6B. 3. eraser 4. ruler 5. Sharpie to outline the drawing 6. Art Blending tool/ Q-tips Material list for Oil pastel projects : 1. drawing book/piece of paper (at least 8x11 preferred) 2. Pencil 3. Eraser 4. Ruler 5. Sharpie to outline the drawing 6. Oil pastels 7. Q-tips or any other art tool for color blending 8. Paper towels
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I will show some Google images to the young learners to understand more about the birds we are going to draw. While drawing the beak I will show some images to understand detail drawing and colors of it. Also we will learn some interesting fun facts about all of the different chirping birds during the class.
