Assessment
Informal assessment of art project.Class Experience
In this private art class, your learner will choose between drawing, watercolor or acrylic painting for a one-on-one lesson! We will be learning to draw the subject, background (if applicable) and the drawing techniques or watercolor/acrylic techniques to complete the project. We will break down the subject into simple shapes and then refine our drawing. Drawing/Sketching techniques taught may include but are not limited to stippling, hatching, cross hatching, shading and contrast. Watercolor painting techniques will covered may include but are not limited to wet on dry, wet on wet, lifting color for mistakes, variegated washes and crayon resist as needed for the project. Acrylic painting classes may include but are not limited to techniques such as blending, layering, dry brushing, and texturizing paintings. It is important to note that the instruction on techniques will be incorporated into the particular project. (Not a separate lesson). Lessons will be in a guided format with visual and audio step-by-step instructions. Creativity and fun will be emphasized in a relaxed setting. The learners will be encouraged to add their creative personal touches to their work. Learners will be encouraged to share their project at the end of the class and/or I will encourage the learner to upload their finished work to the classroom to share with me. Learners can also send pictures of their artwork via the Outschool messaging system for praise and/or feedback as well. The only prior skill required is the ability to follow detailed visual and verbal directions. If time permits an extension activity will be chosen by the teacher. This class is geared towards beginners, however, intermediate students are welcome! Stay for one week or as many weeks as you would like! I hope to see your learner in my class soon!
Learning Goals
Students will learn techniques and skills necessary to complete a drawing, sketch, watercolor, or acrylic painting.
